Bush Hogging

Overgrown field? Neglected pasture? Brushy right-of-way? We bring our 15-ft batwing rotary mower (4115) and put it back in order — fast, affordable, and done right. Even works around the ostriches.

When You Need It

Pasture Maintenance

Keep grass height manageable for cattle and horses. Knock back weeds before they go to seed. Regular hogging keeps pastures productive.

Reclaiming Overgrown Fields

Fields that haven't been mowed in years — tall grass, briars, small saplings. One pass of the bush hog brings it back fast.

Roadside & Ditch Banks

County-required mowing along roads, easements, and ditch banks. We handle the equipment and the liability.

Pre-Clearing Prep

Bush hogging before forestry mulching or fence installation saves time and cost on the primary service.

Lot Maintenance

Rural residential lots that need periodic mowing to stay code-compliant or presentable.

Fire Break Maintenance

Mow fire breaks before controlled burn season to ensure adequate fuel separation.

How It Works

1

Quote

Call or text us with the approximate acreage and a description of the growth. We can often quote simple jobs over the phone, or we'll do a quick site walk.

2

Mowing Day

We show up with tractor and rotary cutter. Systematic passes across the field — methodical, not rushed.

3

Cleanup Pass

Where needed, we make a final pass to knock down windrows or missed patches. We leave the field even and consistent.

Bush Hogging FAQs

How much does bush hogging cost in Florida?
Typically $75–$200/acre or $75–$120/hour for North Central Florida. Simple flat fields with light growth are at the low end; rough terrain or heavy brush runs higher.
What's the difference between bush hogging and forestry mulching?
Bush hogging uses a rotary mower — good for grass, weeds, and small brush. Forestry mulching uses a drum head that grinds trees and stumps — needed for heavier clearing. If you have trees to remove, mulching is the right tool.
How often should I bush hog my pasture?
Most North Florida pastures benefit from 2–4 times per year depending on rainfall and intended use. Spring and fall are most common.
Can you handle large acreage?
Yes. We have the equipment to handle from a single lot to hundreds of acres. Call to discuss large-acreage pricing.
